Ph.D. Ana María Fernández, Visiting Researcher of the Doctorate in Social Complexity Sciences (DCCS), participated in a study on kisses and inequality, which was recognized by the jury yesterday in the 30th version of the Ig Nobel 2020 awards, an American parody of the Nobel Prize dedicated to recognizing the achievements of scientists who “first make people laugh and then make them think”.
Due to the pandemic, this year the ceremony was streamed from Harvard University and the awards were virtually given by real Nobel Prize winners, such as Eric Maskin (economics, 2007), Frances Arnold (chemistry, 2018) and Rich Roberts (physiology or medicine, 1993).
The winners, including Dr. Fernandez, will give free public talks in November, which will be broadcast online.
