With the presence of the authorities from Universidad del Desarrollo, the outstanding researcher and visiting professor since 2013 of the Research Center in Social Complexity (CICS) of the Faculty of Government, Leda Cosmides, was distinguished as a Permanent Visiting Professor on Tuesday May 7 in a ceremony held at the RESB Campus, Universidad del Desarrollo. This is the first time this distinction has been granted at the University, carried out by means of a Decree requested by the of UDD’ s Academic Vice-Rectors Committee.
The meeting was attended by Ernesto Silva, Pro-chancellor of the UDD and Vice-Rector of Postgraduate Studies, Continuing Education and Extension; Sergio Hernández, Vice-Rector of Research and Doctorate; the Professors Ricardo Guzmán, Carlos Rodríguez-Sickert, Jorge Fábrega, Ana María Fernández and Mauricio Apablaza from the Research Center in Social Complexity (CICS); the Director of Research and Doctorate, Denise Saint-Jean; and the CICS Coordinator, Tamara Yaikin.
On that occasion, the Leda Cosmides’ birthday was also celebrated. She is PhD in Cognitive Psychology at Harvard University and co-director of the Center for Evolutionary Psychology, UCSB, and current professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences of the University of California (UCBS).
