Three prominent researchers from the Research Center for Social Complexity (CICS, as its Spanish acronym), were active participants in important talks during October, both in Santiago and regions.
PhD. in Medical Sciences, Pablo Billeke Bobadilla, was the main speaker of the Seminar organized by the Centro Interdisciplinario de Neurociencia de Valparaíso, Faculty of Sciences, Universidad de Valparaíso, on October 19. Dr. Billeke made the presentation “Neurobiological mechanisms of social interactions based on negotiation and its implications in neuropsychiatric diseases”.
Meanwhile, the Director of the PhD in Social Complexity Sciences of the CICS, Dr. Jorge Fábrega Lacoa, Ph.D. in Public Policies of the University of Chicago, was an exhibitor at the XIII Chilean Congress of Political Science 2018, organized by the Faculty of Government of the Universidad del Desarrollo and the Chilean Association of Political Science on October 24, 25 and 26. Fábrega was the speaker of the talks “Legislative Behavior” and “Methodological Debates”.
The Director of CICS, Carlos Rodríguez-Sickert, Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge, was invited by the Universidad de La Frontera on October 24 to participate in the Seminar “Research Methods on Governance of Natural Resources for Common Use”, which is part of the development of the Fondecyt project 11160456 .
What’s next
On November 22, Rodríguez-Sickert will be an exponent in the next Tertulias Porteñas of the Centro Interdisciplinario de Neurociencia de Valparaíso (interdisciplinary neuroscience center – CINV as its Spanish acronym), whose Director is Dr. Ramón Latorre, National Science Prize. These ones are conversation meetings organized by the CINV since 2012, which address different issues. On this occasion, expositors will talk about individualism and solidarity, whose moderation will be in charge of Patricio Fernández.
