With high attendance, mostly young researchers and science enthusiasts, the first day of Interdisciplinary Discussion: The Basis of Human Behavior was held, organized by the Social Complexity Research Centre (CICS) at Universidad del Desarrollo’s Government Faculty and the Valparaiso Institute of Complex Systems (ISCV).

In an original format that included a day at UDD facilities in Santiago, and another at the Institute of Complex Systems in Valparaiso, the conference counted with nine researchers representing different areas of science concerned with human behavior. Centers and guests laboratories to participate in this instance were the Center for Advanced Studies (CEA) of the University of Playa Ancha, the Millennium Nucleus Biology of Neuropsychiatric Disease (nuMIND), the Laboratory of Neurobiology and Behavior (LNC) of Valparaiso University and the Laboratory of Evolution and Interpersonal Relationships (LERI) of the University of Santiago, Chile.

The event, held on October 6 and 7, became an instance of fruitful interdisciplinary discussion on the fundamentals of human behavior from both a physiological, evolutionary and social perspective; proposing numerous possibilities for scientific collaborations between institutions and the researchers involved.
